You filled your pockets with stones, and you walked back into the belly of the ocean.
The water slowly took you in, you slowly fell asleep. No one understood the pain..of living in a world, but inhabiting another one, deep inside your head. No one could really save you. She took you back. The voice. The eye. She enslaved you again. And you ran back into the sea. Oh Virginia... |
Every day the children adorn the temple with precious flowers, daisies as white as their smiles, tulips as pink as their cheeks after a day of playing outside in the sun, yellow mimosas like their laughter, violets as delicate as their innocence.
They lose themselves in the time that does not exist, in a flux held together by their happiness of being free, by the ignorance of the business of being human, by their ability of living in a metaphysical dream. Every day the temple gets coloured, every sunset, when it is time to head back home after a day of games its walls smell of landscapes and animals filtered through young heart and pure minds. Every night the ceiling gets filled with stars, each one a dream, a story, a memory. At sunrise the light illuminates the petals which disperse around with the fresh morning breeze, the almost dance, they wait. Until one day the children stop coming, they stop bringing flowers, and the rain comes. Streams of water and clouds, rotten flowers, the darkness and the dust, not a voice, not a sound. Deserted and dusty, decaying and as dark as pitch. Sometimes you can hear light steps, as almost trying not to disturb the grave silence. A finger runs on the dusty surfaces. The entrance is dark and narrow, the walls are wrinkled and almost scratchy. The architecture sighs, motionless, remembering the flowers and the stars and the smiles. |
